Centellis Platform Cores 

 

The Centellis™ series of AdvancedTCA® (ATCA) platforms are specifically designed to address the unique carrier-grade requirements of the telecommunications industry. Application examples include wireless infrastructure, packetized voice, cable head-end equipment, and central office and data center environments.

 

 

The Centellis 2000 series of compact ATCA platforms provide all the architectural benefits of larger systems. New applications can be quickly added to the network through the reuse of existing, proven ATCA hardware and software. It integrates chassis, cooling, power distribution, and shelf management into an off-the-shelf platform solution on which you can add your service-related hardware and software. The small form factor ATCA chassis enables reuse of existing ATCA hardware and software providing a significant reduction in development cost and reducing time-to-market for new systems.

 

The Centellis 3000 series starts with a 1-Gigabit Ethernet platform core to which optional payload blades can be added. The platform core represents the minimum configuration and includes an ATCA shelf with one or two switch blades, and the Centellis 3000 software package. The Centellis 3000 series is offered in two release versions, each with 14-slot and 16-slot configurations.

 

The Centellis 4000 series represents the next generation of platform cores from Emerson Network Power with the introduction of 10-Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) AdvancedTCA platforms. These platforms consist of highly integrated and verified hardware and software components which help to reduce development costs, and accelerate time-to-market. This allows network equipment providers (NEPs) to focus development resources on critical, differentiating features that provide a competitive advantage. The Centellis 4000 series is also offered in both 14-slot and 16-slot configurations.
